BURNT BUSH EERILY QUIET

Queensland wildlife experts say recent bushfires combined with ongoing drought is having a devastating impact on native animal populations.

Lockyer Valley wildlife biologist Trish LeeHong has been patrolling areas burnt by the Pechey and Crows Nest fires and has rescued 21 koalas.

But she’s troubled by the absence of wildlife, dead or alive.
