A Second Chance for a Resilient Little Squirrel Glider!

This tiny Squirrel Glider has proven to be a fighter! Found alongside her mum on a barbed wire fence during a scorching day, she has shown incredible resilience. While her mum sadly didn’t make it, this young female (only 23g) has an excellent chance of survival and is now receiving the care she needs.

As gliders are actively searching for food during breeding season, they are more likely to encounter fencing hazards. If you spot a glider in distress, please call us at 0407 028 540 before attempting a rescue. We are trained to safely remove them by carefully detaching the barbs without cutting the fence wire, preventing further injury.

These little wonders were found in Murphy’s Creek, but gliders can be spotted throughout Eastern Queensland and forested areas inland. If you know they frequent your region, a quick fence check could help protect them!

Together, we can give these precious creatures a second chance. Thank you for looking out for our incredible wildlife!
